PAPER TWO: DUE: Wednesday, NOVEMBER 3
DESCRIPTION: CONCEPT PAPER - APPLYING TO YOUR OWN LIFE
LENGTH: About 5 pages (about 1,250 words)
Take a concept or theory from the book, and make an accurate, well
written summary of this concept/theory (book definition/ your own
definition). Use critical thinking to apply this concept/theory to your
either your own experiences/social problems that you have witnessed or
seen /current events. The goal is to show that you understand the theory
or concept and can apply it.
Some examples:
norms
culture
social change
religion
gender inequality
racial inequality
breaching experiments
status games
(there are many, may others - if you have questions, contact me)
**Absolutely no plagiarism!!! It will be penalized with a ZERO and other
possible sanctions.
**Anything outside of this guideline must be discussed with us for approval.

Use information outside of the chapter that you have learned. Include
class discussion issues, other readings, etc.
REMEMBER: NO PAPERS WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER THIS TIME. IF PAPERS ARE NOT IN
THE PILE WHEN WE LEAVE CLASS, THEY WILL NOT BE GRADED. THIS MEANS A
ZERO (NOTE: This DOES NOT mean you can put them in my mail box at 5 pm.
If I don't have the papers by the end of class, they will not be in
the pile to be graded. Period)
Feel free to turn in drafts of your paper up to 10 ten days prior to the
due date for critique.
