DUE: No Later Than Thursday, February 17 LENGTH: 4-5 pages (800-1,000 words) Up to 10 points You have read chapter 1 and Durkheim on suicide, and you've read a bit about research methods. Now, the trick is to apply some of the ideas we've learned: Although suicide among college students is not much different than among other young people of similar age, suicide is nonetheless the second leading cause of death (after accidents) of college students. If you were researching suicide, using Durkheim's ideas, how would you proceed to investigate the factors that explain the suicide rate among college students? Then, how would you apply your findings? (hint: Here is some BACKGROUND INFO to give you some context.
