Extra Credit--Movie Critique

This is a flexible opportunity:

For up to 10 points:
LENGTH: About 750 words (3 to 4 pages)
DUE: April 24, at Classtime

A. Watch either of these movies (but not both)

  1) Two Lane Blacktop
  2) Vanishing Point

1) Summarize what the movie is about
2) If you were to write a lecture for sociology 170, what relevance would
   you say that it had for the course
3) List 5 points that you would want your students to take from the movie
4) Does the movie challenge the way we think about things?
5) Is there anything new or different that the movie made you thing about?

These are just guidelines. Feel free to develop other themes or
ideas. Your task is to show that you've thought about the
relationship between the film and course material.

B. Watch both movies, and FOR UP TWO 20 POINTS compare and contrast the
two movies. Of what sociological interest are they? What themes or
concepts might they illustrate? What are the movies saying?
