SUPPLEMENTAL CREDIT WHAT: The book: Eats, Shoots, and Leaves (by Lynne Truss) DUE: Thursday, August 3 (At the start of class) VALUE: Up to 20 points LENGTH: 800-1,000 words (3-4 pages) (order from amazon.com and share) This is for SUPPLEMENTAL CREDIT FIRST: Read this joke. Then: 1) Summarize what the book is about 2) What five (5) points did you learn from it? How will it help you improve your writing? 3) Using the guidelines from the book, edit any paper you turned in (you must have picked it up from us to do this--if we still have your paper you will not get credit). The trick is to use your paper to demonstrate what you have learned from the book. Perfection is important. REMEMBER: Supplemental credit is graded MUCH HARDER than extra credit, and not on the normal scale. C, or average, is 10 points, A is 18-20. It's like grading a movie on a 10 point scale. Also, if you do this, your final paper will be read more carefully. If you don't apply what you learned to your paper, your supplemental credit will be downgraded. PRE>
