Treasure Hunt - Due at class time: November 18

Each question is worth three (3) points. You *MUST* provide a link to
back up your answer to receive full credit for each question.
Your answers MUST be typed and printed out, NOT hand-written.

1) To swim the English channel from England to france: What direction
would you be going; where would you depart and arrive on the other
shore?; how long would it take you; and how many people have gone over and 
back in one go.

2) Many (probably most) people think that crime is up over the last
20 years. Is it? (use latest 1008 or 2009 data)

3) Who is Lewis Clark, and why is he in such S****?

4) If you're convicted of soliciting a stranger on the street for
sex (who's not a prostitute), could you be required to register as
a sex offender? (hint: According to the Illinois statute, what 
offenses require somebody to register, and which of those offenses
seem to not belong there as "sex offenses," if any?)

5) Which Illinois prisons has the most programs for prisoners?

6) What is the starting salary for a correctional officer in Illinois
in 2009?
