POINTS: Up to 50 DUE: Thursday, July 12 Length: 4-5 pages (800-1,000 words) Read the following from Marx's German Ideology: On Idealism and Materialism (Those who want to read the entire work--fairly short--can go to the Online text of the German Ideology The entire work is NOT required and is provided only as a resource for those who might want to read the entire work). Read it with this question in mind: What is the source of a Marxian view of justice/ethics, and how does it differ from Singer, Plato, and religious views? In this paper, address this question (in a way that shows you are thinking about class issues): What is the basis of a Marxian view of justice? (ie, on what does it rest?). This excerise is open-ended, and your only obligation (that on which you will be graded) is to demonstrate that you understand what you've read and can integrate other themes in the class.
