Paper guidelines

DUE: Monday, August 3 (150 pints)
NOTE: ANY PAPER TURNED IN HARD-COPY ON SATURDAY AUGUST 1 will
be worth up to 200 points, instead of 150)

For the final paper: 7 to 10 pages (about 2,500 words) on:

1) A topic of your choice that reflects class readings and WebBoard
discussions and draws heavily and cites class readings. NOTE: I MUST
APPROVE THE TOPIC!

2) A contrast and critique Peter Singer and "Christian Justice"

3) What are the varieties of "social justice" and what are the ideologies
underlying each?

4) Given the different views of social justice, how can we determine
whether there are any basic principles to sort them out? Or, is "social
justice" just another form of relativism?

5) If you have a topic in mind that isn't reflected above, run it by me.
But, remember: You must reflect class material. A general paper on
justice isn't sufficient, nor is submitting papers you wrote for another
class.

PAPERS ARE DUE no later than Monday, August 3, but the earlier the better.
REMEMBER: YOU **MUST** cite your sources if you uses others' words or
ideas. You get an extra five (5) points if you bring the final paper
to class on August 1.
