GENDER JUSTICE

POINTS: WORTH UP TO 50
DUE: Saturday, July 14
LENGTH: 1,000+ words (4-5 pages)

NOTE: Assignments should be written as an essay, not just point-by-point
responses. This gives you a better opportunity to integrate and explore
ideas. Draw from our readers (eg, Collins, Singer, and anybody else
that's been relevant, including URLS and WebBoard discussions).

This assignment involves three parts:

1) Define, in your own words, define what the concept of GENDER JUSTICE
means to you. Then, drawing from course material, explain on what basis
you think that "gender injustice" is wrong. That is, if discrimination
or unfairness toward women is functional for society or for the greater
good, then why change the status quo? (note: NO OPINIONS! Draw from
readings)

2) Next, find two substantive articles on the net, and include the URLS
in a bibliography. Critique the articles in a strong paragraph each
(both good and bad points).

3) Finally, conclude by discussing forms of gender injustice you
see a) in the U.S. and/or b) Internationally.
