Guiding question:
Why is the concept of ideology important for class on peace & social justice?
(Hint: See the handout one
Answer should include briefly:
1) Definition of ideology
2) Identification and description of ONE SPECIFIC ideology as an example
3) What is YOUR ideology (and why)?

And take the ideology quiz (click on the icon that says "take the test;
it's fun)
4) What are the implications of the following ideologies for:
a) Your definition of social justice (does it reflect a given ideology?)
b) The types of ideologies reflected in the readings (See Singer and
Maiese);
c) The ways in which we pursue social justice: How would a given
ideology pursue social justice in, for example, gender discrimination?
(NOTE: Pick any other example if you don't like "gender")
To get the answer to this, look up the homepages for:
The Libertarian Party
The Democratic Party ("liberal")
The Republican Party ("conservative")
Any radical group ("leftist")
