Guiding question:
Why is the concept of ideology important for class on peace & social justice?

(Hint: See the handout one

Answer should include briefly:

   1) Definition of ideology
   2) Identification and description of ONE SPECIFIC ideology as an example
   3) What is YOUR ideology (and why)?
(for this, go to
     http://www.politicalcompass.org/
And take the ideology quiz (click on the icon that says "take the test;
it's fun)

   4) What are the implications of the following ideologies for:
     a) Your definition of social justice (does it reflect a given ideology?)
     b) The types of ideologies reflected in the readings (See Singer and
        Maiese);
     c) The ways in which we pursue social justice: How would a given
        ideology pursue social justice in, for example, gender discrimination?
        (NOTE: Pick any other example if you don't like "gender")

To get the answer to this, look up the homepages for:
  The Libertarian Party
  The Democratic Party ("liberal")
  The Republican Party ("conservative")
  Any radical group ("leftist")

Do different ideologies have different views of social justice? (hint:
see the Maiese piece assigned for the first week.
