386 GRADING CAUTION

Although points are normally distributed on a straight 90/80/70/60
scale, it will be explained in the first day of class that to pass
the course, regardless of points, students MUST get a passing score
on the midterm and final exams, and above all must pass WebBoard
with at least a high F.

Because the class is online, participation in WebBoard is critical.
This is not correspondence class, so failing to participate could mean
failing the class. Passing the exams reflects understanding of
class material. Failure to pass the three main components of exams
and WebBoard risks an F. However, if performance was adequate on
two of the three components, this will be taken into consideration.

HOWEVER: To be eligible for a grade higher than C, students *MUST*
pass the WebBoard component with at least a high F (50 percent
of WebBoard points available).
