DUE: March 19 POINTS: Up to 10 LENGTH: About 800 words (3+ pages) Check out the movie BRUBAKER (with Robert Redford) Then: 1) Summarize the story 2) What are the conditions that the prisoners face that you consider extreme? 3) How do you think such conditions could exist well past the middle of the 20th century? 4) Could these conditions exist today? (why/why not?) 5) If you where to write a lecture for a criminology course, what relevance would you say that it had for the course. Can it be tied to prisoners rights? 6) List 5 points that you would want your students to take from the book/movie 7) Does the movie advocate punishment, rehabilitation, or something else? 8) Can you identify a "correctional ideology" in the movie? (REMEMBER - do this as an essay, not a point-by-point short-answer)
