WORTH: Up to 20 points DUE: No later than Tuesday, February 5 at class time LENGTH: About 700-800 words (3 to 4 pages) Go to the libary and find one good article on prisons from a journal (such as Criminology, Justice Quarterly, or any other criminal justice or sociology journal. DO NOT USE MAGAZINES. (You can use NIU's online resources, such as Jstor, but you MUST use scholarly journals and READ THE ARTICLES! Do not just look at the abstract!) In about two pages (500 to 750 words (3 to 4 pages)): 1) Summarize the article 2) Is there anything in the article that might guide legislators or prison administrators? 3) What in the article do you think that it's important to share with the class? 4) Where there any weaknesses to the article? 5) What did you learn from the article? NOTE: THIS IS NOT A BS EXERCISE: "Fluff" will be given a zero
