DISCUSSION FOR STATEVILLE VIDEO 
 
Now that you have seen the video STATEVILLE, consider the
following questions:
 
1. How does what you saw in the video differ, or correspond to,
your conceptions of what a maximum security prison is like?
 
2. What was the point of the video? Do you agree or disagree?
 
3. From what you have seen in this video, would you suggest that
we make prisons tougher?
 
4. When we think of sending felons to prison, should all prisons
be like Stateville? Or, should that depend on the seriousness of
the crime or the characteristics of the offender?

5. Drawing from our discussion of ideology, what would you say is the
IDEOLOGICAL slant of the video? Does it matter?

6. What other concepts might the video illustrate?
