Extra Credit--Movie Critique

DUE:  March 15 (At the start of class)
Up to 10 points
Length: 750-800 words (3-4 pages)

Select EITHER MOVIE (but not BOTH):

   Blue Velvet
   Jacob's Ladder

1) Summarize what the movie is about
2) If you were to write a lecture for sociology 388, what relevance would
   you say that it had for the course
3) List 5 points that you would want your students to take from the movie
4) Does the movie challenge the way we think about things?
5) Is there anything new or different that the movie made you thing about?

These are just guidelines. Feel free to develop other themes or
ideas. Your task is to show that you've thought about the
relationship between the film and course material.

Watch BOTH movies and compare and contrast with some sociological insights.
The paper must be about 8 pages (1,600 words). This would be worth 
UP TO 20 points.

NOTE: Here's a hint: both films explore exitentialist themes about
"life as prison" and who we respond to it.
