"Want to be a Millionaire?"

We'll play "Do you want to be a Millionaire" on WebBoard periodically.
The game will follow the tv game fairly closely. It will work something
like this:

-- We well meet in the "do you want to be a millioniare" conference
    of CHAT. To get there:
--click on chat (at the main menu)
                --click on the "millionaire" conference

-- We will select "contestants" either before hand (and announce them)
or at game-time by offering a question and the first to answer
it correctly gets to play. We will play for about 45-60 minutes.

-- The "audience" (the people who join the chat room to watch)
will receive points (TBA) for showing up

-- There will be nine (9) questions. Answering the first question
    gives one point; Q2 = 2; Q3 = 4; Q 4 = 7; Q5 = 10;
    Q6 =15; Q7 = 25;  Q8 = 35; Q9 = 50.
A wrong answer and questions 1, 2, 3, or 4, means the "contestant"
wins only a single point (ie, if you've won 4 on Q3, but miss
the 4th Q for 7, you lose points and walk away with only one.

A wrong answer on questions 4, 5 or 6 means you lose whatever
you've won and walk away with 7 points. A wrong answer on 8, 9,
or 10 means you walk away with only 25.

BUT: You can quit at any time and walk away with what you have, even
if you choose NOT to answer a question.

 --As on the game:
--The questions get harder as you increase up the scale
--You will have three (3) life-lines

           1) Ask the audience
           2) Take away two of the wrong answers
           3) "phone a friend" (in this case, you will have 90 seconds
to find the answer by identifying ONE PERSON in the
audience and asking them for the answer
NOTE: People "phone a friend" who get the answer corect will also
obtain a few points.

-- Questions will be in multiple choice format. For example:
        an easy question:
The instructor's name is: a) jim thomas, b) jim morrison,
            c) jim smith c) axl rose

        A harder question:
In 1999, the murder rate for juveniles dropped how much
            over the previous year?
               a) 5 pct; b) 9 pct; c) 11 pct d) it increased

(questions worth lots of points will be, of course, harder)

Also, I will periodically ask, beteen contestants, for answers to
questions, and people will receive points for the correct answer.

NOTE: THESE ARE ASSIGNMENT POINTS!
