WHAT: What??? Wrong? ME? DUE: Anytime! VALUE: Up to 3 points (a few more if warranted) LENGTH: variable - at least one paragraph with citations I'm never wrong. Just ask me. Sadly, some people don't recognize this. If you're one of those rare people who thinks I'm sometimes wrong, PROVE IT! Although a REQUIRED assignment, you will NOT be docked 10 points if you do not do it, because you shouldn't be penalized if I'm never wrong. Your assignment, if you wish to risk it: Take note of something substantive I say in lecture or post on WebBoard (rough lecture notes or papers and things don't count, because they're tentative, always in flux, and are works-in progress). The point is to find something I offer as a claim, as "truth," as fact, as "the-way-it-is" and if it's wrong: 1) Summarize what I said or wrote (accurately) 2) Find substantive counter-information and document it (Google is your friend) 3) Write up a paragraph 4) Challenge it publicly (in class or on WebBoard or some other public venue) 5) Challenges must be made NO LATER than the next class period or within seven days, whichever is shorter. You may do this in groups. (NOTE: Typos, slips of the tongue, or obvious attempts at hyperbole don't count; This should be a factual or related error). Good luck - we can all learn this way. Those who challenge and receive points will be posted HERE
