You are required to write FIVE (5) short papers of about four to five pages (or roughly 1,200 words). Each paper is worth 40 points. (Note: If you don't do as well on your presentation or on other papers, you may write a paper to help make up the difference. You can replace one paper with poor grade with another for a better one). (a paper that contributes to a presenation or other grade will be pro-rated to adjust for point difference between short papers and presentation points). You may also write an extra paper in case you do poorly on the final paper). PAPER TOPICS: --Two or three papers will presumably be related to and drawn from your presentation. It's ok to use the papers as part of your presentation material --One paper (assuming three are on your presentation) must be directly related to a presentation theme (not your own) and it must be turned in PRIOR to that group's presenation in order to have the information ready for class participation --The final (fifth) paper can be turned in at any time, but it MUST be on the final night's issue of Sarter/Kafka and "existential crimes." DUE DATES: --You must submit at least two papers prior to Oct 15 --You must submit papers that you write on your presentation within one week of the day you give it --The final paper on Kafka/Sartre is due any time, but can be turned in NO LATER THAN the last night of class.
