SUPPLEMENTAL CREDIT, CRJ 355

SUPPLEMENTAL CREDIT is *NOT* "extra credit." Supplemental credit are points
that can be applied toward a final grade of A. Obviously, there won't be many
opportunities offered, they will require more work than extra credit, and the
quality must be high. (NOTE: Supplemental credit can also be used for
extra credit).

Remember: Supplemental credit IS NOT an entitlement! Grading is NOT on
a traditional scale. It's intended for students to demonstrate they can
do A work. So, to receive much credit, the paper must be in the A range.
For example: If a supplemental assignment is worth 20 points,

--15 to 20 points for a perfect paper (or near perfect paper)
--10 to 15 points for papers in the B range
--6 to 10 points for papers in the C range
--1 to 5 points for D/F papers

Why this grading? Because you must WORK for an A to earn an A. So, you
must do better work and more of it. Poor will will not be accepted.
So, please DO NOT do supplemental credit thinking that you'll get points
just because you turn something in. It's for people who can demonstrate
that they deserve the A.
