                            Course Outline

Our awareness of crime comes from movies, media, politics, and other
sources that shape how we think. 


REQUIRED READING:

  --Jstor and other assigned readings for presentations
  --Sartre: The Flies (a play in "No Exit and 3 other Plays")
  --Kafka: The Trial
    (Note - you can get them from the library, ebay, amazon)

Grading:

   Class participation (200 points)
   Three Class presentations - 300 points (100 points each)
   Three (3) short papers  (each 50 points = 150 points)
   Final (18-20 page) term paper (200 points)

Grading is on a straight 90 / 80 / 70 percent scale.
(945 points need for an A)

It may sometimes be NECESSARY TO  CHANGE the course assignments listed
on the assignments page.  These changes will be announced, and YOU ARE
RESPONSIBLE for knowing what goes on in class.
